Atlanta Thrashers
The Atlanta Thrashers is a youth program for girls aged 7-19 years old.
Our Mission is to provide girls in the South opportunities to play hockey and develop into strong female leaders. We strive to build an environment that is safe, fun and challenging for the girls to grow their skills on and off the ice. Our goal is to promote co-ed youth hockey within the local rink affiliations while giving girls the additional opportunity to play with an all girls team. We highly encourage skating with an additional rink affiliation in conjunction to our team.
The goals of the team:
- Provide girls with an opportunity to play hockey with other girls and still be rostered on a boys or girls team during the season to increase their ice touches from a development perspective
- Improve skill development to prepare for the next level
- Minimizing potential of injuries as players reach Bantam level (U14) where body checking is introduced
- Allow players to develop and learn the game from someone who brings knowledge and experience in the women’s game
The format of the team: U8, U10, U12, U14, and U16/19

Hello, I have never played hockey before but I’m really interested. I was wondering wether or not I could still potentially play/sign up for 14U. Are there developmental teams??
